| Jan. 2009 - Present Living in the Florida Keys and South Florida, rebuilding a 42 foot trimaran. In June, 2010, cruised for three weeks in the Abacos. Currently doing boat maintenance and repair on a variety of motor and sailing vessels, including fiberglass repair, Awl-grip painting and wood refinishing, and mechanics. Serving as first mate part-time aboard 70 foot Hatteras for short excursions to the Bahamas about once a month. Serving as captain part-time aboard 50 foot Mochi Craft for charters around the ICW in Ft Lauderdale. 1996-2009 Sole proprietor of a garage door installation and repair company in Indianapolis, Indiana. During this time, owned and raced a J-24, chartered a 50-foot catamaran to the Bahamas, and cruised and raced the Great Lakes. As first-mate, delivered two motor vessels through the Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale, one 75- and one 105-foot, built by North Star Yachts in Kalama, Washington. 1980-1996 Living in Daytona Beach, raising a family, sailing and racing off-shore and intracoastal, owned a 34’ Piver trimaran, a 23’ Stilletto racing catamaran, and 29-foot ‘e-scow’, and also became a PADI certified open-water diver. 1978-1980 As charter captain of Swan 48 sailing vessel, sailed throughout New England, from Maine to Newport, RI. Made several trips from Nantucket to Bermuda, St. Martin, St. Barths, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Tortola, spent Race Week three times in Antigua, and chartered throughout the West Indies. 1976-1978 Aboard a 61-foot aluminum racing sloop, toured St. Thomas, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Barbados, Antigua to Grenada, sailing the length of the West Indies numerous times. Spent several months around Nice, France, as captain of a 40-foot Magnum powerboat, taking day and weekend owner-charters and diving excursions in Corsica and Sardinia. During that time, delivered a 61-foot racing sailboat from Gibralter to Barbados and on to Newport, RI. 1975-1976 Served as crew aboard the 140-foot yacht America, maintaining her fine finish and participating in historic events such as the Tall Ships Parade in New York Harbor in 1976. Experience included trips from New York City to Newport and Bermuda, from Fort Lauderdale to Bahamas, and Boston to Grenada.

Moved from the home town of Indianapolis to Ft. Lauderdale and started a yacht refinishing business, specializing in wood and fiberglass work. Served as a deck hand racing off-shore on several 30 to 50-foot racing sloops, and delivering various yachts up the east coast and to the Bahamas. | |
